So here’s an interesting phenomenon I’ve noticed…
Babies hit things with their little fists when they’re angry.
You’d think that conveying anger through violence would be a learned behavior. Something that happens after years of watching Looney Tunes, boxing matches, and Simon & Simon re-runs…
But no, my daughter isn’t quite 4 months old and she beats the piss out of my shoulders and neck every time she’s unhappy about something.
“Yeah? Well you push this thing like a geriatric sloth on Quaaludes. Let me drive, old man.”
I’m still pondering what this means about us as a species. Because it sure as hell seems like we’re born with the propensity to hit things… And if so, I can’t say I’m a fan of that particular facet of our genetic coding.
