I’m afraid this isn’t going to be much of a post.
I spent most of the day working on some reports at home, and then talking with the TV repair guys who made time to come out to my house and work on my signal issue.
Turns out it wasn’t the receiver’s fault at all. (Sorry about that, Onkyo.) No, it was TWO separate broken HDMI cables. One of which was connected to the U-Verse box, and another that I was using to test whether the first cable to the U-Verse box was at fault.
Yes, you read that right. My damn TEST cable turned out to be bad too. *sigh*
Anyway, I got the receiver refunded without question or hesitation, and they fixed my subwoofer to boot. So, if anyone happens to need some home theater/stereo work done (and you’re in the Houston area), I wholeheartedly recommend the guys over at All Star Audio/Video.
They were fast, friendly, and way more than fair with me.
“Hey! Squeak is back!”
And with the money I saved (and after the stressful day I had yesterday), I promptly took myself to a sensory deprivation chamber and floated in space for an hour.
