So, continuing our Holiday Saga, Daphne also met one Mr. Claus for the first time last week. She and Jen came up to my office, and we all headed over to the mall during lunch for her first Santa experience.
Memorial City does a nice job with their Christmas stuff, so there were some fantastic photo ops. Come to think of it, they’ve come a long way since their days as The Cave Mall, back when I’d spend all day, every day, either working at Exhilarama/Suncoast or simply hanging out there.
Oh the 90’s…
Okay, back to the holiday stuff.
This was just outside the “Santa Nexus.”
First we had a group photo taken by one of the shyest elves on record. Seriously, the guy looked terrified that he actually had to interact with us. Hopefully that’ll get easier for him as the season rolls on, otherwise he’s in for a long holiday.
Anyway, Jen opted out of this pic, but Grandma was more than happy to take her spot.
Wow. My Docs are in serious need of some polish.
After this vignette we were shuttled through the giant Christmas tree (the one from the first photo), where we came face to face with The Big Guy himself. And Daphne, like she is, was absolutely fearless. She sat right down on his lap by herself (an independent Claus), smiled up at him, and immediately started playing with his gloves.
Santa doesn’t look too thrilled about this.
Fortunately, we did eventually get her to stop playing with Santa’s accessories and look up at the camera for one good shot.
Her tiny hand in his just kills me…
So there you have it. A successful Clausing.
See you tomorrow.
