And It Was Good

Jeebus jokes aside, there’s not a whole lot to talk about over here.  Jen has the day off from both jobs, so she’s finally taking it easy at home. (I think, anyway.)  I’m still at work, but Fridays are typically a half-day for me…that is, if I can finish everything I need to do and get out of here.

I actually headed into the city last night for my sister-in-law’s congratulatory “Dr. Dinner” at Black Lab.  Congrats Dr. Am; Nicely done!

I came home afterward to find two new, ominous-looking boxes in the foyer.  One of which I knew to be the changing table hobby kit…

changing talbeThis one is going to elicit quite a few obscenities whilst being built…

But the other I wasn’t sure about.  Turns out, a very old friend (I don’t mean she’s old, I mean that we’ve been friends for almost 30 years…which I guess makes us both old), sent me a fantastic “DadGear” diaper bag.

dadgearCogs.  Unmistakably manly.

Thanks much, H.  As I said this morning, Daphne will zip up perfectly in there.  And I’ll still have room for a fifth of Goslings, my Zippo, a (David) Bowie knife, and a baggie with 200 diazepam.  Everything I’ll need for an evening at Chuck E. Cheese.

The rest of the weekend appears to be devoid of plans at the moment.  Although that has a funny way of changing in a blink, and all too often I’m left facing down a looming Monday, wondering what the hell happened to the past 48 hours.

And sadly, there’s not a lot of “gaming” to discuss here on my “Freeplay Friday” as I’ve just been painting my Biker Boyz (no, not the horrible Kid Rock movie, I’m talking Orks here), like a madman, trying to get them finished before this weekend’s Escalation League game.  At this point, that seems unlikely to happen…

Oh!  I did, however, sign up for a Loot Crate subscription last night, which seems like getting box of geeky treasure in the mail every month.  I’ll be sure to keep you all posted on my gypsy treasures.

Okay, time to wrap things up.  See you Monday.
