Hi there.

We had a little work done on the yard yesterday.  Some tree/bush trimming, flower planting, mulching, fertilizing, and general spring sprucing.  We’re pretty happy with how it came out.

It’ll take a little while for the Mexican Heather to fill in under the trees, but that’s fine.  Now we just need to find the time to keep up with it.

Speaking of spare time, I did swing by Goldmine last night in an attempt to push little spaceships around a table and make “pew pew!” noises.  (Yes, I’m totally a grown-up.)  Sadly, I was the only person there for their inaugural “X-Wing Night.”  The owner said they were rescheduling it to early Sunday afternoons, since people had said it was hard to make it after work on Tuesdays.  I replied that I would, quite happily, never be in attendance for those (BumbleDay being what it is), but that I hoped it worked out.

A friend from the Warhammer days did happen to be there though, so I at least got to play a little as I was teaching him the rules.  Afterward we all stood around and talked about the days of video games past.  There were quite a few former EverQuest players there, so we got to tell tales about the monumental time suck that was that game.

In all it was a good time, even though I didn’t get a chance to really try out my new list.

Finally, I’d like to pause for a moment and tell my wife how much I love her.  I have never known a more kind, supportive, brilliant, and beautiful lady, and I’ve no idea what I did to deserve to have married a woman like her, but it had to have been something suitably angelic.

Happy birthday to the most wonderful wife I could’ve ever asked for.
