Spring Has Broken

Hi there.

Once again we had a pretty perfect weekend.  Nice and slow; just the way I like ’em.

Friday we went to the pseudo-park at La Centerra again, and while Daphne had a fine time we were confronted with mild disappointment.

It seems that D’Amico’s, one of our favorite restaurants in Katy, has closed.

I haven’t been able to find out what happened to it other than, “it [wasn’t] successful.”  Which is kind of amazing, given that it fronts a small park in the suburbs and it serves gelato.  Although they certainly didn’t advertise that fact.
If it had been my place, I would’ve had a little gelato cart outside all spring/summer.

Gelato_PushcartThis here is my jam.

But hey, that’s just me.

Anyway, Saturday was Jen’s day with Daphne so I spent my time relaxing and messing about with various games, like I do.  First I practiced a little X-Wing…

xwingdiningYes, I flew them that close together.  And no, somehow I avoided bumping them into each other.  I’m getting better.

And then I played quite a bit of Overwatch, and started messing around with ShadowPlay + Adobe Premiere.

Me playing as “Junkrat.”

Unfortunately I didn’t get the resolution for the video conversion quite right, because the 1080p export kept inexplicably crashing Adobe Media Encoder.  So I had to downgrade to 720p, which in turn screwed up the overall picture in the YouTube video.

It’s definitely going to take some more work to get better at this.  (And, for that matter, to get better at Overwatch…)  But it’s not terrible for a first attempt.

Then on BumbleDay (there’s lots of CamelCasing in this post!), we did our usual walk thing and generally dazed our way through the ridiculousness that is ending Daylight Savings Time.

If you listen closely at the beginning, you can hear the serenade I get during our walks.

And finally, today marks the beginning of Jen’s spring break.  Which actually equates to a bit of a break for me as well, as she’s home in the mornings to keep an eye on Daph.  Nice all around.

Okay, gotta run.  Talk to you tomorrow.
