Boogie Wipe Productions

The pollen in this town has blown right by the “HIGH” and “EXTREME” levels, and is now ranked somewhere in the “DECIDUOUS DEATH” category.  I mean, even my fingers are swollen.  And poor Daphne, she’s just getting rocked by it.

daphsnotpic1“Do I hab sombfin ob by doze?”

She snored like crazy last night (which is a first for her), and the blockage actually woke her up a few times.  Which of course woke me up as well.

And as I’ve mentioned in the past, trying to wipe her little nose is like reenacting the final scene from a Shaw Bros. movie.

What’s worse, the air quality doesn’t show signs of improving anytime soon.
*sigh*
I realize you Texans love your Live Oaks, but they are brutal in the springtime.

And speaking of brutal, I mentioned yesterday that I’d been to the doctor for my annual check-up.  And it would seem that my cholesterol has leapt back up after last year’s good news.  My good cholly numbers remained identical, but the LDL or “bad cholesterol” jumped by about 75 points.  According to the American Heart Association, I now have a 2% chance of heart attack in the next 10 years.  But that number doesn’t take into account my familial history, which is…not good where heart disease is concerned.

This has prompted some serious internal retooling.  I absolutely hate the idea of having to take medication for anything, especially if I have to take said meds for the rest of my life.  However, if the alternative is not getting to see Daphne grow up, or never meeting my grandchildren, or forcing my wife to raise our daughter alone?

Well then I’ll take the goddamn pills.
But not without a fight.

So, for the next 6 months, I’m going to focus on my Paleosity and see if I can get that number hammered back down to a respectable level without chemical assistance.

Guess we’ll see.
