I’ve done some dumb things.

I once tried to walk around Beavertail State Park, thinking it was only about a mile. (It’s more like 12.)

When I couldn’t decide where I wanted to go to college, I threw a dart at a map of the U.S. and ended up in the backwoods of Utah.

I leased a Mitsubishi Eclipse when I was 23, and the debt from that car has carried over into every auto purchase I’ve made since.

Not technically mine, but it looked just like this.

I pierced my tongue back in ’94, when doing so was freakish and completely unheard of.

[[No, there are no pictures of this.]]

I used to climb around up here with no safety harness…after drinking a few dark n’ stormys.

[[*That picture was taken from here, looking down]]

I used to occasionally dress up in ridiculous suits and go out to clubs to dance to 80’s music.

This is not a good look.

And I once rode a sled off of a 30′ cliff, dressed as a chupacabra, to the bemused amusement of over a hundred-thousand onlookers.

Yes, I often do things that simply lack rational explanation.

But on this day, seven years ago? An otherwise not-so-bright guy made the smartest decision of his life.

I married the most wonderful woman in the world.

Since then we’ve had our share of challenges, like any couple does. But looking at the whole of the past 7 years, our lives have been very, very good. Besides, it’s not about how great we are when things are perfect. It’s about how perfect she is when things aren’t great.

I love you, sweetie. Thank you for marrying me.
