Long Weekend

So there’s not a whole lot in the way of gaming happening right now.  The holidays have come and gone, and most of the big-ticket games were released a few months ago and are now in full-on point release mode.

I’m still messing about with the X-Wing game when I have the time.  Although I haven’t had a chance to play at all this week, as Jen and I have been watching “Making a Murderer” on Netflix.  Naturally, I much prefer spending time with my wife over playing by myself in the dining room.

That said, Fantasy Flight Games just announced they’ll be a PAX South this year, and are hosting an X-Wing tournament on Saturday afternoon.  So I might try to get in on that, should the opportunity present itself.  It’d be comical for my very first game of X-Wing to be in a sanctioned tournament.  I’d essentially become the equivalent of a bye round for a few lucky bastards…  But hey, gotta learn somewhere.

I’m still awaiting the return of the Overwatch beta, as I sorely miss the nightly “beer & support” sessions I had going with friends.

Mercy there is mah girl…

And finally, we’re going to test out yet another of Daphne’s Christmas gifts this weekend, the Kelty Child Carrier (good thing they didn’t call it the Kelty Kid Karrier), Transit 3.0.

keltykidkarrierSame color and everything…

I read the instruction booklet, and this thing is an extremely complicated little piece of baby hauling equipment.  But I think I have a handle on it.  (ZING!  DAD PUN!)   Anyway, Daphne needs to get used to riding around in it before PAX in a couple weeks, because we want to use it to keep her above the nerd fray there.  (And rightfully, they don’t allow strollers in the convention hall.)

Okay, I’m o-  Oh, wait!

FYI, there will probably won’t be a post on Monday, as Jen and I are planning on spending a date day together.  We’ve an iFly appointment in the early afternoon, then we thought we’d try a Star Wars/lunch combo at Santikos.

So I’ll see you Tuesday.
