Reading Down Stairs

Yes, the literal interpretation.

Daphne was quite engrossed in her “Hello, Bard!” book this weekend, and didn’t want to put it down for something so trivial as descending a flight of stairs.

So…she read it on the way down.

As you can see, there wasn’t a whole lot going on this weekend.

I did a bit of proofreading work on Saturday morning, then spent the rest of the day lounging. I even dropped by my Friendly Local Gaming Store for the first time in months.

Then, on BumbleDay, Daphne and I drove over to the homebrew store to pick up ingredients for a Scottish Ale, then swung through PetSmart on our way home…which is like a zoo speedball for toddlers. (“Look, fish!” “Look, birds!” “Look, turtles!” “Okay, let’s go home!”) This is particularly true for toddlers that live in Texas…in August.

I mean, I realize the sun was partially obscured today and all…

Thanks NASA!

but it sure as hell didn’t do anything to help alleviate the temperature down here.

What I wouldn’t do for a high in the mid-80’s…

Once Jen finished with her Pure Barre classes, we did our usual grocery + beers trip. Daphne, however, made it about 2/3 of the way through before passing out on my arm in the shopping cart. It’s not easy to navigate the aisles of a crowded HEB with a toddler’s head pinning your forearm to the cart handle…but I endeavor to make it look easy.

I think Jen snapped a picture of this while we were there, but I haven’t seen it yet. I’ll post it as soon as she sends it to me.

Okay, see you soon.
